Overview

What this service actually involves

Good paneling is a math problem before it is a carpentry problem. We set out the panel layout first so the fields are evenly spaced, the stiles land sensibly at doors and corners, and the rail height suits the room rather than a default measurement. From simple board-and-batten in a hallway to full raised-panel rooms and coffered ceilings, the layout is drawn and agreed before the first piece goes on the wall.

Every project runs the same way: measured on site, written up clearly, and built by the crew that quoted it. You deal with Wilson directly rather than a rotating cast of subcontractors.

What's Included

Included in every wainscoting & paneling project

  • Raised panel, shaker, flat panel and board-and-batten
  • Balanced panel layouts drawn before installation
  • Full-height paneling, wainscoting and accent walls
  • Coffered and beamed ceiling assemblies
  • Cap rail, base and panel mold detailing
  • Layouts resolved around outlets, doors and returns
Our Process

Four steps from first call to final walkthrough

01

Set Out the Layout

Panel widths, rail heights and stile positions are drawn and approved for each wall.

02

Prepare the Wall

Surfaces are checked for flat and plumb, and backing added where fasteners need to land.

03

Install

Stiles, rails and panel mold are installed to the agreed layout with glued, tight joints.

04

Finish

Joints dressed, holes filled, and the wall handed over ready for paint or stain.

Why It Matters

The difference a careful job makes

Small decisions in preparation, materials and finish work add up to a result that looks better on day one and still looks right in ten years.

A Finish That Holds Up

Joints that stay tight, doors that stay aligned, and surfaces that still look right years after we leave.

Built for the Coast

Materials, fasteners and flashing chosen for salt air, wind-driven rain and East End freeze-thaw.

Detail Where It Shows

Reveals, returns and transitions resolved properly — the details that separate custom work from installed product.

Schedules That Hold

Realistic timelines set at the estimate, with long-lead items ordered before they can hold the job up.

Our Standard

Detail-driven from start to finish

Premium results come from disciplined habits, not shortcuts. This is the standard we hold ourselves to on every project, whatever its size.

Clear Communication

Straight answers, written scope and a weekly update on where the project stands.

Measured On Site

Everything is measured to the house as built — no assuming a wall is plumb or an opening is square.

Real Preparation

Backing, blocking and substrate work done before finish work starts, not improvised around later.

Materials That Suit the Job

Species, grade and hardware selected for the location and the way the space is actually used.

Respect for the Property

Floors and fixtures protected, dust contained, and the site cleaned before we leave each day.

Final Walkthrough

We walk the punch list with you and sign it off together before the project is called complete.
