The North Fork has a different design language from the South Fork. Detailing here tends to be simpler and more agricultural — shaker cabinetry, square-edge trim, beadboard, exposed rafters and painted finishes. Simple profiles are unforgiving, though: with less ornament there is nothing to hide a loose joint behind.
